SUMMARY:Fifth International Conference on Antimicrobial Agents in Veterinary Medicine (AAVM)
DTSTART:20100511T090000Z
DTEND:20100515T180000Z
DESCRIPTION:Antimicrobial drugs have been the major group of compounds
employed in veterinary therapy and prophylaxis for over 60 years. Dur
ing the years of use\, a variety of problems\, real and imagined\, ass
ociated with antimicrobial therapy\, have gained increasing attention.
Clearly the issue receiving ever increasing awareness and considerati
on is the antimicrobial resistance expressed especially by problem bac
teria. Not only has it become a serious concern in planning and implem
enting effective therapy regimen\, but also the mechanisms of spread o
f this resistance are seen as increasing threats to human and animal h
ealth. Obviously resistance transfer is the focus of present research.
The upcoming AAVM 2010 Conference will address resistance\, including
its molecular basis\, mechanism and transfer\, as one of its central
 topics.
