Discussion will look forward to practical and policy issues around procurement and provision, and evaluate the role of bodies involved in school food in the context of tightened public sector spending. Planned sessions will consider the relative importance of free school meals compared to other government programmes, as well as personal and parental responsibility for healthy eating. Further sessions will also cover the reintroduction of cooking to the school classroom and will include case studies and examples of best practice in improving pupil and parent engagement with healthy eating objectives.
